Go enjoy life!=)

It was Wednesday morning, when my mom texted a message to me, which goes something like this...

"Grandpa's seriously ill, if you are able to it's best that you come and visit him..."

Of course I immediately phoned to ask what really happened... but it wasn't until in the afternoon when I decided to skip classes altogether (Calculus tutorial and Microeconomics lecture) and took the LRT down to PJ where my mom picked me up. After dinner, our family went to the hospital... but somehow my maternal grandfather was under doctor's care...

In other words, I wasn't able to see my grandfather even though I have travelled so 'far'... hmm...

Well, FYI, my grandfather is in his 80s now, and from the relatives at the hospital in Cheras, they told us that there is water in his lungs, and he could get some kind of illness if this is not cured... Water in his lungs as a result of things such as salivas running down into his lungs when he is sleeping...

Went back to Setapak that night, but I was able to visit him again on Sunday this time at HUKM (he got transferred there...) He was so not like the last time we met him a few weeks ago... he was so weak.... could hardly utter a word... us the family members surrounding him... But then we all know he is strong and he is going to get through this with the help of his family members (including me...=)

Well, wasn't trying to tell a story initially but then the message is clear... treasure your life now or you will regret later...

Watching Transformers for Free??!!

For those of you who attended the U6F gathering at MV two weeks back then you will know what I am talking about... For those who do not, do not get too excited about the title of this post...

Yeap, there's the other 'price' to pay as a result of not paying a single sen for watching the 'blockbuster movie of the year' (as they would call it...) what else but getting a refund after a 'just-make-you-wanna-throw-your-tantrum-right-away' moment at the 'right' time (the climax, that is...)

Here's the low-down:

One activity during our gathering was watching Transformers 2: The Revenger of the Fallen movie (or shall I say, the main and only activity...). Had lunch before that at Burger King. By the way, the queue was so long... by around twelve noon all the seats for all the timeslots on that day (Saturday) right until the early morning of the next day has been fully booked!

Ok.. not surprising at all...

For the synopsis... go checkout yourself... don't want to spoil the mood of those who have not seen it yet (what keeps you from watching it until now wor?=)

The thing is that at the climax (I am 150% sure it was the climax!!) at the desert scene... suddenly the scene started to pause and continue and skip... paused and skipped!!! The sound system also... paused, skipped and then continued.... paused, skipped and then continued...I don't know what the **** is going on on the screen in front of me!! Everyone started screaming and yelling and cursing... Gosh, if I have the vulgarity ability I would have yelled them loud at the top of my lungs too!! I heard someone wanted to cry also... just imagine how the emotions of these avid Transformers movie-goers felt when they are 'treated' with this kind of 'service'!!

Ok, a bit too much over there.... -.-"

You can check this out with my fellow classmates on what happened that day... what a shame for the cinema... I don't think the 100% refund given to us (wait, they didn't even offer... we need to go to the counter to ask!!) did us any justice at all... but then we could understand if they are running on a tight schedule... what to do?

At the end of the movie when the credits were rolling they didn't even on the lights, and no people were waiting at the exits... hmm... I was telling my friends: are they keeping us in here by giving us another round of free Transformers 2 movie? Haha...

Anyway, I still think the first Transformers movie is better.. I don't know... maybe it's what they call it 'sequel syndrom' or something....

My New Studying Technique

Since I fared so badly for my last sem, it's time to reassess my studying method/technique...

** No more will I waste too much time on my tutorials

Wanted to actually put "no more doing tutorials..." but I suspect this might actually land me in hot soup... =S

I will still finish my tutorials on time, just that it will be last minute... that means, I would have completed my tutorials without understanding it... but will spend time studying it after the tutorial myself...

I still think giving answers to us before we start doing the tutorials is more effective for us to learn/study compared to giving the answers later. That means it's better than, for example, letting the students copy the answers during tutorial group without much time for us to reassess our work during that brief one hour.

Here's one interesting point which I want to point out to support my point: Out of the five subject last sem, the three subjects with the highest grades are Probability and Statistics 1, BA 2, and Linear Algebra... And all I did for those subjects was to study other people's answer... =)

Gave it a try starting this sem, and it kinda worked (with Calculus that is... since it was the first subject with a quiz i.e. this week...) Will grasp the studying formula quickly... and apply it to other subjects as well...
