Engineering as My Choice

Today I went to the Star Education Fair again. This time I went there to listen to an engineering talk. The first two speakers at the education fair spoke generally about what engineering is, and what qualities should an engineer have. From what I remember one has to have a creative and critical thinking mind, innovative, able to handle stress, and inquisitive among things. Also I come across a small quiz in an engineering-related magazine which quizzes the readers whether they are suitable to take on an engineering career. Among things were whether one would open up small toys when they were young to see how it is made up inside (I answered never!). Also were whether my friends understand what I am saying when I am trying to explain about a problem (I said not really also!)... To be honest...half through listening to the talk I asked myself: Did I make the right decision??!!

Anyway, there are a few other courses that one could take other than engineering, for those who are like now, in a physics class in upper six. One of them is actuarial science (surprisingly the exhibitor there told me that I need PHYSICS and NOT NECESSARILY accounts to enter!) I thought... never mind. But to be an actuarial science students one needs to possess excellent mathematics scores...not me...and then there will be a lot of papers to sit.

So, all in all, it was a great experience going to this once-in-a-year (for what I know) education fair. I have learnt a lot of things. But for now, I got to go back and focus on my studies!
