School holidays which is not meant for one to enjoy

School holidays.... but this time unlike previous ones, there will be exam after the school holidays are over... The exam will continue from last week for us after the school holidays are over. So I am not expecting any special things lined up for me during the school holidays... got to study after I badly fared on my Chemistry and Maths 1.... But hopefully I can still continue to blog on a regular basis...

Lower Six People Enter

Last Tuesday the Lower Six people 'finally' started school. 'Finally' as in... have I been really waiting excitingly for them for the last few months, or even the past few weeks? I heard from my tuition classmates and some of them were so excited about it..

But to be honest, I am not really excited about it... Not that I don't like it... it gonna happen right? I am just worrying what will happen to the class, to the studying environment... just imagine... Lower Six will be part of our lives... (yeah, at one moment the Lower Six were helping out with the teacher's day decoration at the assembly ground, and my classmates were flocking out of the class and standing at the railings just to have a look at the them...)

I guess I will be thinking a lot of the time that we, the whole class spent together as a class for trips, parties.... now with the Lower Six and exams....

MUET Speaking Test

Err. it was terrible to be honest. I did not really prepared fully to it... well, thank goodness I did not affect my other candidates' performance... I just did not really care/worry so much about it... well, it is over, and I immediately got it behind my mind and moved on. My guess... probably a low Band 4?

Sports Day

Last Saturday was our school annual Sports Day. Well, not many people from my class that went (or even Form Six for that matter....) just like the one I attended two years ago... just sit inside the dewan kuliah (hot!) and waited for time to pass by walking around the road, buying food and drink milo... sit and talk.... until around 1pm the thing ended... nothing spectacular than from previous years... Oh yeah.... Purple House was the overall champions! UNGU ROX!

MUET and Malay Mail Big Walk

Last Saturday went for our MUET. Err... like almost all of them I did not take this thing too seriously... haha. All they need is a Band 4, and I will be very happy if I am in Band 4 already. All this while for MUET all I did was do the homework that teacher gave and that was it! Of course, a bit of reading on the summaries the night before (even that one was to make sure how many MPs and SPs that I need...).

The next day I woke up at around 5.00am, and found out that it was raining. Ha! I am supposed to go to Malay Mail Big Walk and it is raining, will there still be one? Anyway, I waked my parents (yeap!) to drive me to school. The school will be providing buses there that leaves from school. Wow, the amount of participants was just so huge! I heard that there were almost 14 buses and even so, we need to stand and squeeze in into the bus! Wow! Not everyone got there on time though... some reached there late... guess I should be thankful for getting on the bus!

The walk was fun but then I can't see anyone in front of me that I know of... like my classmates. Can't believe how fast they really can walk. Well, maybe I was the one who was walking to slow. So, arrived at Dataran Merbok (yuck, it was muddy! Not that I wasn't expecting it as it rained this morning). Then was too late to get my goody bags (learnt a lesson there...), and so I just left for the bus back to school.

All in all, it was a great experience... especially when this will be the final time that I will be going as a student from CHS.. will treasure this a lot.

Trip to Eye on Malaysia

The Saturday one week ago went to Kelab Setia's trip to Eye on Malaysia at the Titiwangsa Lake with my classmates and friends... It was a great hangout. We all gathered in school (but many of them came late that day) and a bus took us there. First we took group photos (I wonder whether we will get to keep them or not) in front of the Eye. Then we split up into a few groups and enter the gondolas. I think we rode a couple of rounds in around 20 minutes, and we got to take a look at a breathtaking view of Kuala Lumpur. After that, all of those from our class U6F took a walk in the park together... It was so long since we can do something like that! At around 12.30pm got into the bus and rode home... but there's a huge traffic jam! Anyway, it was a fun experience, especially when you are hanging out with your own classmates...

CHS Amazing Race

What an experience! It was definitely like the one that I watch on television... The Amazing Race.. Initially thought that it won't be really in a big scale... but did not know that it really was, in terms of the places that we need to go to!

This CHS Amazing Race was I think the first time it was held. The registration forms were given out very early in February and was intended to be held two weeks earlier.... but because of unforeseen circumstances needs to be postponed. Myself, Ben, TK and CW are in the same team. The fee was quiet high actually, but we don't really mind that too much since we are all there for the experience...

Let's get straight to the interesting part: the race. Like normal lah... the QM teachers and the principal Puan Tan Lin reminded us again about that our safety is the most important... be careful when crossing the roads and things like that... but the people were not feeling bored by those 'speeches'... Then Puan Tan Lin flagged us off... and the race began...lor!

First was identifying pictures of certain buildings or places in our school in black and white... that one we just could not figure out what was it... but when we were passing up we could see other people's answers... aiyah... we all did not think about it...
Next we rushed to UM for our next task... well, Ben called KH just to make sure that there is a pond there for kayaking... We ran... yeap, all the way to UM because we just couldn't find ourselves a taxi... but again something slipped out of our minds... asking for transportation from people...well, that one I could not brave myself to do...haha! So, we reached UM and the task was a 'roadblock' (in terms of Amazing Race), where 2 people have to kayak in the pond and search for QM frisbees with our number on it... We spent the most time there... as Ben and TK could not see the frisbees without their glasses on (at first I thought I would go down there with my glasses on if the other two are so afraid of losing them, but during the prize giving ceremony being held later that day, it was revealed that someone actually lost their glasses in the exact pool...scary...)
Next was to go to Old Town to look for some secret agent.... then we went back to school to drink some kind of vege drink, went to Taman Jaya to do a detour. One is to look for 5 units of 1 cent coins made in 2006 from somewhere (I forgot what was it....) and the other one was to solve a soduku puzzle (I was the first one to suggest that we do that!) We solved the puzzle quite quick actually. Another place that we went to was Bukit Gasing (we took a cab there) and climbed up until we reached the tower... wah, I was so exhausted when we reached there!
Other challenges that we had to face was the 'human flat pyramid' thing... I don't know how to describe it but it involves us putting our heads on the other team member's knees and stay in that position for 3 minutes.... wah! That one also I 'bertahan' so hard to complete the task! For one to complete this task that group really needs teamwork! (Hope the QM snapped some pics of us during that task!)
So, the very last task that we did was to make 'roti canai'.... it was fun... but for me I really don't know how to make them! Also, we need to stomach in our 'masterpiece' (that was the exact word that the clue stated!)!! With our stomach full, the four of us crossed the finish line and we were, according to them in 22nd place.... but this placing have not factored in the time penalties that we and the other teams pick up along the race.
It was all over at around 3pm, and next was the prize giving ceremony. All in all, it was really a great experience, and if there is another kind of this things in future, I really don't want to miss out!

Most Quiet Guy in Class??!!

Feel like going up to the balcony and...... look at the stars and wonder myself.... (don't think negatively... I won't do stupid things... haha... )

Pictures From Our Visit to Our Old House in Ipoh

Hello! Now I will start putting in some pictures into my blog... just to make it 'on par' with others (who also put up pics on the web also... I don't want to be 'left behind'...!!)

To understand the following pictures, you first need to know what happened before this.... I moved to PJ in 2003. Before that, my family and I used to live in this house in Ipoh. This house was rented out while we were staying here in Bandar Sunway... The pictures shown above was how it looked like when we visited them during the December holidays.. They moved out at the end of last year. These photos below are taken when we visited the house again during the March holidays after they left:

There's still a lot of pictures that I want to publish... just be patient... more interesting photos are all on the way!

Debate

The whole week was all about the English debate... no, I was not participating... I was in charge of HELPING TO ORGANIZE the thing (at one time it was as though as I was indeed in charge of organizing it because of so many things that I need to handle...) But anyway with the help of others I finally got the thing done...yeah, DONE. Really, as I am typing this out I was not really thinking about it. Need to head back for my studies and be on the right track. Anyway, it was a great experience for me. But I really hope that this thing won't come up again in the future.... at least for me!

Papers are back!

Oh dear, the exam papers have been given back to us (except MUET... for some reason I don't really care about what I am going to get for the paper...), and I did not really do quite well in them...need to work harder.... Actually it is not a big deal about getting how many marks this time, the important thing is STPM...That's what I think...

Anyway, immediately after the holidays, Science and Mathematics Society quickly had a meeting among the committee members after school on Monday and discussed about Science and Mathematics Week which was originally planned to be held in 2 weeks time. Discussed a lot, and a lot of effort have been put in by the committee members (does that include me?)... until the next day we received news that it will not be held so soon... it will be held around June/July!!

Exam and Holidays

The exam is over! Relaxing and enjoying myself after the exam... until I forgot about my blog! How was my exam you would ask me....oh, better don't ask...it was terrible!

Basically what I did after exam was to sleep...yeap! That was the first thing I did when I went back home on Friday... Then the next few days was spent on TV, on the computer, tuition... Contrary to many I don't really look forward to school holidays... it is as though as life is paused for nine days and you hit the 'resume' button on the first day that we come back to school. Really missed school and can't wait for school to resume.

U6F Chinese New Year Visit

Today our class went to visit Pn. Jeya's and Pn. Loo's house. In the morning at around 9.30am I arrived at school, thinking there will be people who will be there so early. But there wasn't anyone! Anyway, people started to arrive and at 10.15am, we drove ourselves to Pn. Jeya's house.

Breakfast was meehoon and lemon juice (enough for brunch)... We had a very fun time playing blackjack...of course, I did not join in, especially when there people use real money to play...not that I am obedient or anything like that...if I knew how to play I would really risk a lot of money...haha...if I knew how to play...

After that, we went to Pn. Loo's house and had lunch there. Also was liquor... (seems like I am talking all about food stuff...now I am hungry...) After that we drove for a short distance to one of our classmate's house which is less than 2 minutes by car. Some of us played blackjack, and there were other people who played 'bluff' (yeap, first time saw them playing this game...). I am such an inexperience card game player...someone teach me!!

The visit kinda ended like that, but I really had a great time. Hope that there will be something like this again in the near future....

'Ghost Rider'

Watched 'Ghost Rider' with my grandpa and my younger siblings at Amcorp Mall... My thoughts about it after the movie? Well, the special visual effects, the sound effects were very good... the scenes were a bit too horrific (surprises me that it is not rated 18SG...), but the storyline isn't good enough... Should not be your first choice when you want to see a movie in cinemas...

Well, just my 'review' on the movie... other than that, I just stayed home and did my things...you know, a lot that I have not studied... especially chemistry when you need to know how to convert from this alkane to that alkene to that alcohol to that carboxcylic acid to that ketone to that....arrrrrrhhh! I am getting a headache!!!

Chinese New Year celebrations

So, how was your CNY celebrations? Mine was a blast! Well, the fact that all my relatives came together for a few days...how often can you make that to happen? So, to tell you how did my CNY go....well, no need long-winded explaination actually. The usual things lor... went for reunion dinner, and then the next day gave tea to grandparents, lunch and dinner, eat, get ang pow, eat, get ang pow, eat, get ang pow and more ang pows... =)

The next day after lunch we went to my other grandparents' house... then the same things happened all over again: eat, get ang pow, eat, get ang pow...

Last night, my family and I went to Sunway Pyramid to have a walk... a lot of the shops were closed, but still there were a few that opened...like the Tropicana Life shop (surprisingly). Parkson Grand was having a huge sale that ended yesterday, as they are moving to the new wing of the same shopping mall and will reopen in the middle of the year. Can't think of anything to buy though... There were a lot of Chinese families or couples there too (surprisingly too, as I thought many would have went back to hometowns). I like walking in shopping malls during this period, when there is not a lot of people, and the shops are all almost closed... Don't know why...

Happy Chinese New Year!

First of all, happy Chinese New Year to all!

Plans for this long CNY break? Well, of course the first thing will be attending our reunion dinner at my grandparents' place...which is in PJ (yeap, like 15 minutes from my house...) Then we will be spending the day there on the 1st and 2nd day of new year, and then we will visit our other grandparents' house... which is in KL (yeap, like less than half an hour from my house...) My class is planning on visiting teachers' houses on the 7th day. Can't wait for that. Other than that I guess I got to stay at home and finish up my revision...exam is coming really soon!

So, talking about CNY...I have never felt so excited about celebrating this festival than I have ever been before this... guess it is because it is the last time we will be celebrating it as teenagers. Even last time during the mid-autumn day, myself and my younger siblings still play lanterns and candles for a few nights ('cause according to past experience, mid-autumn nights has always been a rainy night).

Anyway, last of all, Happy CNY (again!)

Driving Test

1 year and 4 1/2 months. That's how long I have 'waited' to sit for my driving test. Finally last Tuesday I went for it, and I passed! I know, a lot of things that happened...but who really cares...when all that matters is whether you have passed or not! Thanks for those people who wished me luck for the test. Finally, I felt like I am at par with all those people who can drive... haha!

Seminar on Geology

Last Saturday our class attended a seminar organized by the Geologi Department in UM. Actually there was supposed to be class that day, but since there's this talk in UM we did not attend school that day...like for me, I did not even step inside the school compound at all. A lot of us we went for this talk so that we do not need to attend school on that day (hehe... like me!). But there was a few others who are interested on the subject (well, at least, want to know more...) The Surat Kebenaran Ibubapa was written that the time for the seminar was from 7.30am until around 1pm. So, I was kind of surprised when they said that they are hoping that we stay until around 5pm, as there will be an exhibition tour after the talk. The talk was until around 12.45pm, with a small break in between. Then, it was lunch time, but a lot of us just took the free lunch boxes home...haha! Not to be disrespectful to those people who have worked so hard to prepare the seminar and exhibition for us, but really I did not intend to stay that long because I have an appointment in the afternoon.

Anyways, the talk was informative, and bravo for the organizers for a job well done. They really did put a lot of hardwork in doing this, as one of my classmates said that they prepared a lot of papers and brochures...even got manpower to bring us for a campus or exhibition tour....kind of feeling pity for them as they did not get the attendance that they have expected...Anyway, really looking forward to any other seminars by UM (I am not sure whether they want to ask us to go there anymore!)

Gerko Day

Last Friday was our school's Gerko Day. The English Language Society was one of the society that has a booth inside the hall on that day. Actually, there wasn't anything that I did before the day...wait, I actually asked a few of my other committee members to do something. But other than that, all I did was to asked the committee members to do shifts to monitor the stall. At the end of the day, we DID get quite a number of members. But what I think is that it doesn't matter if there will be hundreds of people signing up at your counter...the most important thing is to sustain the members so that they would come to the society's meetings week after week. We did not even sell anything on that day...well, except maybe the T-shirts...because I think Gerko Day isn't ALL about societies selling things to improve their income...Anyway, to those who helped out on Gerko Day, thanks a lot!!

New School Year

It have been three weeks already since school started but I have not write anything yet about my experience in school after an absence of almost one month. There's lots of things for me to do since school started...one of the important things that I have to deal with is the Gerko Day. It will be held this Friday, and I really hope that everything will be okay at that time. I have not make my new timetable yet: sometimes when I feel tired I will take a short nap. Sometimes there will be great shows on TV, which is when I will sleep a bit late. Sometimes when there is a lot of homework I will sleep a bit late also...Now there's also latihan merentas desa also...When I make my timetable later I will make it very flexible. But now I am like...living one day at a time...
